This restricted short-circuit test device is designed to verify the compatibility of protective grounding conductors and overcurrent protection devices (rated ≤25A) with fault currents up to 1500A, and to assess the integrity of supplementary safety protections.
It complies with Clause 5.6.4.1, 5.6.5.1, and Appendix R of IEC 62368-1:2018, EN 62368-1:2019, and GB 4943.1-2022, applicable to audio, video, information, and communication technology equipment.
Working Principle
The system uses an energy storage device to generate instantaneous high-current outputs. Discharge time and initial voltage are adjustable. After each discharge, the unit auto-recharges for subsequent tests. Discharge current is recorded and displayed as a current-time curve.
